Who publishes DigiKhata
The English Play listing is titled DigiKhata - Expense Tracker, package com.androidapp.digikhata, by DigiKhata Business Apps. The developer block names DIGI TECHNOLOGIES PTE. LTD., with a Singapore address, the email contact@digikhata.pk, support email support@digikhata.pk, and the phone +92 313 7979999. The page was updated on 2 September 2026. The public site is digikhata.pk. Their terms page says the app is offered on Google Play, iOS and similar platforms. We did not open an App Store listing that day, so we are not quoting an iPhone rating.
What the Play listing says it does
The listing describes a customer and supplier ledger, PDF reports, a cash book with payment in and out, and separate expense accounts. It also describes inventory with a barcode scanner, a staff book for attendance and payroll, and invoices and quotations. It says a business card can be shared on WhatsApp, that partners can use more than one device, and that the ledger works offline until you connect and back up. It says SMS and WhatsApp reminders are unlimited and free, and that they collect debts “3x faster”. That multiple is their claim. The page does not say whether a reminder can leave without you pressing Send.
The heading showed 4.1 stars from 213K reviews. The ratings block showed 4.1 stars from 212K reviews. We did not see a “Contains ads” label or a price on that page. The about page calls DigiKhata a simple, secure, 100% free bookkeeping and accounting application for daily transactions. We did not find a rupee plan on the pages we opened. The homepage, the same day, also described staff access rights, a PIN or biometric lock, card payments on the phone, a QR called DigiQR, and lending up to PKR 50,000. A counter on that homepage rendered as “0 MILLION +”, so we are not treating it as a user total. We did not apply for a loan or activate a card reader, and we do not know the fees or the approval rules.
Data safety on Play says no data is shared with third parties, that the app may collect location, personal info and six other types, that data is encrypted in transit, and that you can request deletion. “No data shared” and “may collect location” can both be true. Collection is not the same as selling a phone list. If location access matters to you, check the permission prompt on your own phone.
What Munshi is for
Munshi, from DIGIT, records who owes you and whom you owe, a daily cash book, bank accounts and expenses. Statements and the app itself work in English and in Urdu, right to left. PDF or Excel reports can be shared. The phone keeps entries offline and syncs later, with a phone backup and an optional Google Drive copy. Up to five businesses sit on one account. WhatsApp reminders open already written, and you press Send. The app is free to download. A few small ads, marked Ad, pay for the servers and do not show while you add an entry, sign in, unlock or send a reminder. Customer names, numbers and amounts are not shared with advertisers. Munshi does not manage stock, invoices, barcodes, staff logins or loans. A shop that needs those should not pretend Munshi will grow into them.
How to choose
Choose DigiKhata when the barcode stock book, invoices and staff attendance on its listing are the reason you are installing an app at all. A pharmacy or a garments shop that counts pieces will feel the gap in Munshi immediately. Choose Munshi when the job is udhaar, the cash drawer, the bank and the week’s expenses, and when the statement you forward has to be readable Urdu. Choose Munshi if you want the reminder to wait for your own Send tap, and if you want that behaviour written down rather than assumed.
