If the website is apnamunshi.com, it is the other product, published as a brand of MGH. We make DIGIT’s Munshi, so this page is here to stop a mix-up, not to score points. Facts about Apna Munshi are only what their public site said in October 2026. We did not get an account inside their app, and we do not describe screens we have not seen.

Why the names collide
“Munshi” is an ordinary Urdu word for the person who keeps the books. More than one company uses it. Apna Munshi’s about page answers “Is Apna Munshi the same as Munshi?” with “Yes. The app is called Munshi inside, and the website and brand are Apna Munshi (apnamunshi.com).” Read that as a statement about their product. It is not a statement that they publish DIGIT’s app, and it is not a statement that the Google Play package pk.digit.munshikhata belongs to them.
DIGIT’s app is named Munshi on the phone. On the App Store the listing title is Munshi Khata App, id 6808346467. The Play package is pk.digit.munshikhata. The publisher is DIGIT. The site is munshi.com.pk. If a forwarded APK, a Facebook ad or a WhatsApp link does not show that package and that website, do not treat it as this Munshi.
What Apna Munshi’s site says about itself
The about page says Apna Munshi is a brand of MGH, NTN 5867608-4, with an office at Pizzito, near Nagina Sweet and Bakery, Block A, Samanabad, Faisalabad. It prints WhatsApp and phone +92 320 7860440. It says the product does bills, udhaar, stock, expenses and salaries, in English and Roman Urdu, on a phone or a computer, and that billing continues when the internet drops. We did not see a promise of Urdu-script (Nastaliq) screens on the pages we opened. The homepage says English and Roman Urdu.
The homepage prices modules after a 15-day trial, with no card, paid by JazzCash, Easypaisa or bank transfer. in October 2026 the udhaar khata module was Rs 199 a month or Rs 1,990 a year. POS and billing was Rs 299 a month or Rs 2,990 a year, and that card mentions barcode, stock and low-stock alerts. Expenses and profit was Rs 249 a month. A WhatsApp and SMS module was Rs 249 a month. The yearly column is marked “2 months free”. Many other modules, from restaurants to petrol pumps, have their own prices on that page. Sample numbers on the homepage, such as a day’s sales, are labelled by them as illustrative, not a real shop. We are not repeating those samples as results.
Their blog post “Made for every shopkeeper”, dated 2 October 2026 and updated 16 October 2026, says Android and desktop Chrome or Edge can install the app from the browser, and that iPhone uses Share, then Add to Home Screen. We did not find a Google Play listing titled Apna Munshi that day. Absence from our search is not proof none will exist later. The check that stays valid is the developer name and the website.
The homepage also describes roles (it names Malik, manager, cashier and munshi), PIN sign-in, daily backups, Excel import and a full Excel download. Those are their claims. We did not verify the internals, the security design or what a cashier can see. Do not take this article as a security audit of Apna Munshi.
What DIGIT’s Munshi actually is
DIGIT’s Munshi records customer and supplier credit, a daily cash book, bank accounts and expenses. It works in English and in Urdu script, right to left, including statements. You can share PDF or Excel. It works offline and syncs later, with a backup on the phone and an optional Google Drive copy. One account can hold up to five businesses. A WhatsApp reminder opens already written, and you press Send. Nothing is sent automatically. The app is free to download. A few small ads, marked Ad, pay for the servers. Ads do not appear while you add an entry, sign in, unlock or send a reminder. Customer names, phone numbers and amounts are not shared with advertisers. Munshi does not manage stock, invoices or barcodes, and it does not charge a monthly module fee.
If you need a point-of-sale bill, barcode stock, payroll or a restaurant floor, Apna Munshi’s site is advertising those modules and a price. DIGIT’s Munshi will not grow into a POS because you ask it to. Pick the product whose website matches the job. Then, for DIGIT’s app, keep the book the way this udhaar guide describes.
